Well done to the Cadets who got through to the All Ireland Regional Group Stages. On the day the girls  won the first two matches but unfortunately, they lost by a small margin to a very strong Cork side.

The girls had a great year and all hope to continue in September.

Congratulations to the Senior Girls who also qualified for  the All Ireland Regional Group Stages. They travel to Tubbercurry, Sligo for the  tournament stage on Saturday 4th February . There  will be three matches played, one each  against Cork, Monaghan and the hosts Sligo.

Best of  luck to all involved.

Will keep you posted.

TY students highly commended in the ‘Sew Cool’ Craft Competition in Sligo.

Congratulations to three talented Transition Year students who were highly commended in the national ‘Sew Cool’ craft competition 2011. They recently travelled to St. Angela’s College in Sligo for the prize giving ceremony where they each received a voucher for €50. Yasmine Zourab’s entry was a vibrant embroidered lizard, Jenny McEvatt’s eye catching cushion involved many crafts from tie dye, to patch work to embroidery and Clara O’Flaherty’s original hat involved intricate beading and embroidery. Many other ‘crafty’ Transition Year students were shortlisted for the competition and their projects are currently on display in a craft exhibition in Nazareth House in Sligo town. Watch out for a piece on the competition on Nationwide which will be televised at the end of November. The shortlisted and highly commended projects will be showcased in the school library and will be photographed for the school website when they return to Dublin. Well done to all involved.
