Seachtain na Gaeilge this year runs from the 10th. March to the 17th. March with many events taking place during the week.
The TY pupils have been busy during last week making fine eye-catching posters to decorate the school and advertise the various events . The prize-winnersof the Comórtas Postaeir will be announced at the Ceilí Mór which takes place this year in the Mount Temple Hall on Tuesday the 16th.March from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.
All of 5th. Year will be taking part in a Tráth na gCeist Boird on Friday afternoon. There will be 30 Euro on offer for the 'buaiteoirí' at this bi-lingual quiz.
Friday lunchtime will see the First Years scarpering all over the school grounds trying to decipher the dastardly clues devised by Ms. Nic Ruairí and claim their 'taisce'in the Toraíocht Taisce and on Monday during Irish classes the 2nd. Years will be showing off their skills with a sliotar and a camán and trying to drive the ball as far as possible to win the Poc Fada Competition.
All the Irish teachers will be doing dance and singing workshops with their pupils during the week and Obair Bhaile Gaeilge will be suspended for the week, except of course for the exam classes.
