The French debating team is to be congratulated on reaching the Finals of the Alliance Francaise Joutes Oratoires (Debating Competition):Eilish Monahan, Dylan Coburn-Gray, Sam Logan, Aifric NiChriadain. We wish them every success in the Final on 30th April and hope they bring the cup back to us again this year. The German debating team has reached the National Quarter Finals: Emma Carrigan, Peter O'Byrne, Olivia Hicks, and Caitlin Thomson. Our three debates so far have been chaired by Daniel Power with time-keepers Elliot Hughes and Kate Crooke. Mount Temple had the fourth largest entry in the First Round of the Second Linguistics Olympiad of Ireland. Eight of our entrants were in the top 50 and so were invited to take part in the National Finals in DCU on 24th March.Emma Carrigan, Elliott Hughes, Rachel Grahem, Connie Dempsey, Holly McNamara, Kathryn Ledden, Eric Hattaway and Natalie Denner.
Three of our German students have been invited to take part in interviews for places on German courses as a result otf their Junior Cert grades. They were in the top 100 of the 9,330 pupils who sat the exam last Summer. They are: Rachel Graham, Adam Greene, Nils-Paul Fischer-Kerrane.
