Mount Temple defeat Alexandra in French Debate

The Mount Temple French Debating team have got through to the next round after defeating Alexandra College in the Alliance Francaise on Tuesday 14 December. The motion ‘Que le sport est devenu un affaire commerciale’ was defeated after a spirited performance by the team made up of Sarah Hashish, Shelley Carlyle, Michael Buggle and Aifric Ni Chriodain (who stepped in at the last minute to replace Esmay Murray who unfortunately was too sick to take part). Sarah Hashish won Best Speaker for the 2nd time in this year’s competition and the team were praised for the depth and creativity of their arguments. Formidable!

TY Play

After working with past-pupil Dan Colley in a series of play-writing workshops, a group of TY pupils have devised and are staging a play for 3 nights in Mount Temple Hall. Tickets are E5 and available on the door or from the school office.
