    23 March 2020
The All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO) is a contest in which secondary school students develop their own strategies for solving problems in fascinating languages from around the globe. Students must use their ingenuity to solve Puzzles such as deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphics, decoding numerical spy codes, and interpreting ancient Mayan poetry. Congratulations to Henry Williams and Davis Butterfield for their great achievements in the Ailo Final. Henry achieved 58th and David 81st place out of the 1400 students who did AILO rounds this year. We also won the best photo competition. Thanks to Ms Nic Ruairi and Ms Kuruc for helping organise this initiative. If you feel like trying some AILO puzzles click on the link: https://ailo.adaptcentre.ie/puzzles/

  • Easter Holidays

    3 April 2020
So we should be having the last class of the term. Remember the way you can feel, nearly smell freedom as the final bell approaches, the general air of excitement... who would have thought you would miss school but we all do. But who would have thought you could and would embrace distance learning the way you have. All the feedback is really positive - we have to commend you on the way you have engaged with your teachers and continued with your work. These lessons will stand to you - self directed learning, managing myself etc etc . Thank you for your feedback - we are listening - some of you are over whelmed, some want more feedback, most like the videos. BUT NOW remember you are on Easter holidays, give yourself a break, relax and do some fun stuff. Your teachers will not be checking in with you but may set some work particularly for exam classes. Of course we are all here if you need to get in touch. Exam classes - to the best of our knowledge the state exams will go ahead. We appreciate the uncertainty is very hard to deal with but you must proceed on the basis that the exams will happen. Look after yourself and each other, attached are some helpful guides from NEPS (National Educational Psychological Service). relaxing exercises here - https://soundcloud.com/user-719669409/relaxation-techniques-30-03-2020 Lastly please if anyone is in need of anything contact helen.gormley@mounttemple.ie in confidence, we have had offers of donations, food parcels etc so if you or anyone you know is in need please do let us know. Stay safe. https://b2cef16892da7f59cb8b-0704d2c65d24f26cc4687c42a45cd41e.ssl.cf3.rackcdn.com/pdf/5789_20200403152942.pdf https://b2cef16892da7f59cb8b-0704d2c65d24f26cc4687c42a45cd41e.ssl.cf3.rackcdn.com/pdf/1096_20200403153040.pdf
