Rugby (Boys’)

Mount Temple Rugby: Mount Temple Comprehensive boasts of a long tradition of rugby, dating
all the way back to the days when the school was known as Mountjoy. The
school now fields six teams consisting of boys and girls from all year
groups throughout the school.
The Senior boys team compete in the Senior 2A Leinster League and
McMullen or Vinnie Murray Cup.
The Junior boys compete in the Junior 2A Leinster League and Duff or Fr.
Godfrey Cup.
The girls Senior and Junior teams play fixtures throughout the year in both
sevens and fifteen-a-side games. These are at friendly and competitive
The boys First and Second year teams play friendly fixtures throughout
their season which then culminates in the end of season competitions of
The Bull and Comprehensive Cups .
Players train each week (details below), have matches most weeks and
attend the weekly meeting with their manager where they get
confirmation of the following week’s fixture and any other information.
Our senior boys team are the official ballboys at the Aviva Stadium for all
International and big European fixtures. This is a great honour and
tradition going back a long time between the school and the IRFU.
New players, both boys and girls are always welcome.
